What is ECO4 Scheme?
The ECO4 Scheme is the latest phase of the UK government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO), aimed at helping low-income households improve home energy efficiency. Launched in April 2022, it runs until March 2026, offering free upgrades such as boiler replacements, air-source heat pumps, and insulation improvements.

ECO4 Achievements Since Its Beginning
Since its launch, ECO4 has supported the installation of heating and insulation measures across England, Scotland, and Wales. To date, the scheme has installed over 80,000 condensing boilers, more than 32,000 renewable energy solutions such as heat pumps and solar panels, and provided free insulation to over 155,665 homes.

How Does the ECO4 Funding Granted?

- Your boiler must be installed before 2005.
- You do not have any condensing boiler in place before.
- For getting a free boiler, your property must have a gas metre installed before April 2022.
- To receive a free heat pump, there should be no gas connection in your property.
- To get a free central heating system, you should not have any radiators installed.
